Biography

Vic Chen has brought their high level of commitment and athleticism to the Money Mellons for the past 4 years, serving as captain for the past 3. Picking up ultimate in their senior year of high school, they have grown into a phenomenal presence on the Mellons, demonstrating their speed, precision, and sharp thinking on the field. They quickly gained recognition in the Pittsburgh Ultimate Community, playing for mixed club team, Port Authority, in 2023 and later, turning heads in the Ohio Valley Region, earning an All Region Honorable Mention in 2024.

Off the field, Vic’s leadership really shines. Since their rookie year on the Mellons, they have upheld an incredibly high standard and dedication to ultimate, pouring over film and spending hours upon hours perfecting throws. As a leader, Vic inspires others to achieve their potential. Everyone on the team knows Vic for their patience and kindness as a teacher, excitement for others, and calm, consistent support on and off the field. They uplift the entire Carnegie Mellon Ultimate community with their love for sharing their knowledge of the sport with others.

We are so proud to nominate Vic for the 2025 Callahan award for their commitment to the Money Mellons and to ultimate frisbee. They have truly left their mark on the Carnegie Mellon ultimate community, and we are so excited to see what Vic will do in the future.
