Biography

Stella “Spear” Dziedzic grew up in Chicago, IL and has been playing college and club ultimate for 4 years now. She captained the Hellions of Troy for two consecutive years and has been the teams spirit captain this past year. She started her club ultimate career on the Los Angeles Rampage women’s team, and last summer she was a D-line handler for the Los Angeles Lotus as one of their youngest but most impactful players. This season, Stella made her professional debut on the PUL’s Los Angeles Astra as an O-line handler.
On the Hellions, Stella has been absolutely central to the team and program culture for all four of her years at USC. She models excellent athletic performance as well as commitment and passion for the sport, all while welcoming countless new players to the community and coaching the future generations (through LA’s youth ultimate orgs). On the field, Stella is an absolute weapon on both offense and defense, opens up the field with her throws, and can get open with ease. You will never meet a player with the determination, selflessness, passion and heart of Stella Dziedzic. She is undoubtedly worthy of the honor of the Callahan Award.
