Biography
Monica O’Brien Saez first touched a disc as a freshman at UCSC—and has been a force to be reckoned with ever since. Since her first season with SOL, she’s been an essential player on the team, earning a reputation as a relentless cutter, confident thrower, and selfless teammate. She was key in propelling SOL to a nationals level team. Monica’s field awareness and consistency make her a go-to option in every point, and her stat sheet—stacked with blocks, goals, and assists—only tells part of the story. Off the field, she’s an amazing and incredible friend always uplifting her teammates, helping cultivate the next generation of SOL. Monica embodies the spirit and skill the Callahan Award honors.
