Biography

Malia found her love for ultimate in college at Tufts University. In her first year, she joined the Bwo (B team), where she dedicated herself to improving her skills and met some of her best friends. From sophomore to senior year, Malia played on the Ewo (A team). She grew during her three years on the team and helped propel the Ewo to nationals in 2022 and 2023. In the summer of 2022, Malia earned a spot on Boston Siege, where she competed with and against some of the country’s best athletes. After graduating from Tufts, Malia went on to pursue a PhD in bioengineering at UC Berkeley. She was a key addition to both the California Pie Queens and Nightlock. She quickly found community in the Bay and contributed her deep knowledge and passion to these teams. This 2025 season, Malia captained the Pie Queens and has exemplified what it means to be a true leader. She invested in the growth of every player and was a critical grounding force and playmaker on the field. Malia has developed into an incredible all-around player as a powerful thrower, lethal deep threat, and shutdown defender. Malia Brooks embodies the values of ultimate as a generous friend, steady leader, and hard working athlete. Her dedication, integrity, and kindness have led her to great success and profound impact on the sport.
