Biography

Katrina (Kat) McGuire started playing ultimate as a freshman in high school at ETHS in Evanston, IL. After coming to the University of Michigan in 2019 to start her college career with Flywheel, she immediately began to make her mark on the D-I women’s division. She has been a dominant force since, leading the team with her athleticism, disc skills, and leadership. As captain in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Kat has led by example – on and off the field – through her work ethic and competitive spirit. Beyond her captaincy, she remains a steady and inspiring presence for the team. In addition to college ultimate, Kat has become a key player in the club division, starting her club career with Chicago Nemesis in 2021 before joining Ann Arbor Hybrid in 2022. She recently won the mixed club national title while captaining Hybrid through their 2024 season. Kat has further developed her versatility as a player in the Premier Ultimate League, where she competed with Columbus Pride in 2023 and now currently plays with Indianapolis Red. To top off the list of her achievements, Kat represented Team USA at the 2023 U-24 World Championship in the mixed division, where she won both a world title and the spirit award – exemplifying her sportsmanship and love of ultimate.
