Biography
Caitlin Lian’s ultimate journey began in 2019 at Lexington High School, where she became a dynamic presence in the New England youth scene. She joined MIT sMITe in 2022, and quickly became a force in the cutting space. Her junior year, she transitioned to being a dominant handler and field marshall, while at the same time, stepping into captainship and taking charge of the team. Her tenure is marked by decisively piloting the sMITe offense with her ability to get upline on any defender, her elusive shoulder fakes, and her powerful huck game. Her leadership elevates those around her, blending steady composure with her uniquely fiery presence. She also competed two club seasons with Boston Siege, making appearances at top-level tournaments. Lian stands out for not only her athleticism, but her tireless work ethic, powerful vocal chords, and love for her teammates. For these reasons, MIT sMITe is honored to nominate Caitlin Lian for the Callahan Award.
