Biography

April Lu started her ultimate career 10 years ago as a freshman on the YCC team Belly of the Beast. Ever since then, she’s been hooked on ultimate and has been a beacon of joy in her ultimate communities. In 2019, April came to UC Davis and joined Rogue. She immediately made an impact and was voted Rogue’s Rookie of the Year. When college ultimate returned after the pandemic, April played an instrumental role in leading Rogue to back to Nationals in 2021, and again in 2022, after a 15 year drought.
April has dedicated 6 years to Rogue, and made an impact each year she has played, captaining Rogue in 2024. She currently also plays for the club mixed team Tower, winning Tower Rookie of the Year in 2023 and helping to lead them to their first Nationals in 2024. April graduated in 2023 with a BS in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and she will be graduating again in 2025 with her masters in Pharmaceutical Chemistry. April is one of the most dedicated players you will meet, consistently putting in work outside of practice, as well as dedicating time to help mentor a new generation of handlers on Rogue over the past two years. On Rogue, April is specifically known for her reliable, calm presence on the field, and her absolutely infectious smile, which can be seen in pretty much any picture of her playing ultimate.
