Abbi Shilts

Biography

Abbi Shilts’ love for ultimate started in middle school in Edina, Minnesota. Throughout high school, she demonstrated leadership, guiding her team to two state titles and placing third with Minnesota Superior Mixed at YCCs in 2021. She competed at her first club nationals as a high school junior in 2019 with Minneapolis Pop and has contributed significantly to several elite teams since, including WUL’s San Diego Superbloom for the past two years and SoCal Flipside in 2023 and 2024. Her time at UCSD Dragon Coalition has been even more impressive. In her first year in the division, she was recognized as the 2021 ROTY runner-up, followed by earning the ROTY title in 2022. She has also made her mark on the international stage representing Team USA Mixed U24 in 2023, where she secured a gold medal and spirit award and is back with the team for 2025. Known for her relentless talent and all-around versatility, Abbi’s presence on the field inspires her teammates, showcasing not only her competitive spirit but also her ability to elevate those around her through helping guide drills and staying after hours to help explain a concept in more depth. Abbi always approaches a challenge with determination and a hint of goofiness. Abbi simultaneously takes her ultimate seriously while embodying the lighthearted and silly energy of D-Co.
