Biography
William Hines first joined the team in September 2022, and his steadfast vision has fundamentally transformed our program. Rising quickly to become a two-time captain, Will’s primary goal has always been simple: make everyone around him better.
At 6’4”, Will brings undeniable defensive prowess and an explosive offensive presence to the field, but his unselfishness is his greatest weapon. Over the last two years, he racked up 96 assists, 94 blocks, 38 goals, and a Callahan — proof of his willingness to share the disc and elevate everyone around him. His dominance extends beyond the college season, helping the Axolotos club team to a 17-12 record and leading 4RNG to a 2025 MCUDL Men’s League Championship.
But what truly sets Will apart is his dedication to our culture. He built a team that supports each other by leading from the trenches. From 7:00 AM Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning practices in sweltering 80-degree heat to freezing 30-degree winds, he never once complained. He just motivated us to grind right there with him.
That unwavering dedication and relentless work ethic, combined with his deep respect for the Spirit of the Game, led us to our first Metro NY D-III Conference Championship since 2021. Will embodies the absolute best of Ultimate: unmatched athletic excellence, selfless leadership, and infectious sportsmanship.
