The University of Washington Sundodgers is proud to nominate Leo Kruse for the 2026 Callahan award!
Leo’s ultimate journey began long before the Sundodgers, winning a state championship with Ingraham in 2018 before sticking with his roots in Seattle. With an immediate impact his freshman year, Leo has been one of the most consistent, high motor players the Sundodgers have ever seen, and is willing to put his body on the line for the team. A team captain his junior year, he brings a rare combination of composure under pressure and the ability to do whatever the team needs, whether that is getting layout blocks or being a much needed hybrid. He is the true embodiment of what it means to be a Sundodger. He consistently models the highest forms of leadership, hard work, resilience, and positivity, providing the best example for teammates to look to. We could not be more proud to nominate Leo for this award, and hope this gives a glimpse into not only the player, but the person he is.
