Josh Reed

Biography

Josh Reed began his ultimate career with no prior experience, joining Auburn Aetos as a freshman largely because friends encouraged him to attend Watermelon Scrimmage. While he initially struggled with the sport and considered leaving due to limited playing time, conditioning, and time demands, he stayed because of the strong community he found within the team. That decision became foundational to both his athletic and personal growth.

Through consistent dedication, Josh transformed himself from a complete beginner into a starting offensive handler by his sophomore year. He built his game through disciplined habits: arriving an hour early to practice, regularly attending Wednesday and Saturday mini, and spending extensive time studying film. His rapid development reflects both a strong work ethic and genuine commitment to improvement.

Competitively, Josh has grown into one of Auburn’s most dependable offensive players. Rather than relying on highlight plays, he has established himself as a steady, technically sound handler who brings composure, smart decision-making, and consistency to the field. He takes pride in being a reliable presence the team can trust in high-pressure moments and in serving as an anchor for the offense.

Beyond competition, Josh embodies the culture of Auburn Aetos. He credits the team with helping him build lasting friendships and shaping him into the person he is today. His journey, from someone unfamiliar with ultimate to a committed leader and contributor, makes him a strong representative of Auburn’s values: growth, resilience, humility, and full investment in team culture.
