Biography
Gavin Thomas Abrahamsson has long been a cornerstone of the Zoodisc program. Starting out in the Philly youth scene and going from Strathhaven high school to Forge and later Sepda, he came into Umass relatively unknown. But from day one it was clear that he was different. Immediately he made an impact, quickly becoming known for his high flying blocks, amazing layouts and consistent all around play. Throughout his career at Zoodisc he spent his summers on clubs Sprout and DIG, UFA teams Phoenix and Glory. Also, world’s teams Sweden Open U20 and USA Open U24.
Where Gavin truly shines is off the field. Coach Dylan Tunnell remarks that he’s never seen a guy so universally loved and respected by his teammates. This is because he has a truly kind soul and a selfless spirit. Gavin embodies what it means to be a Zoodisc player. That is why for the first time since 2020 Umass proudly nominates Gavin for Callahan.
