Biography
Coby Loveranes has been a cornerstone of the Virginia Tech men’s ultimate program throughout his four-year collegiate career. Since arriving as a freshman, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional athleticism, skill, and competitive drive, quickly establishing himself as one of the team’s most impactful players. Despite beginning his ultimate journey at the collegiate level, Coby has developed a deep passion for the sport that rivals—and often exceeds—that of his peers. His commitment to growth is evident in his year-round dedication to ultimate. Over the past four years, Coby has competed with several high-level club teams, including Virginia Tech Burn, Oak Grove Boys, and Virginia Vault. Most recently, he has taken the next step in his career by joining the D.C. Breeze of the UFA, further showcasing his ability to compete at the highest levels of the sport. Beyond his on-field performance, Coby has emerged as a respected leader within the program. His understanding of the game has grown tremendously, allowing him to serve as both a strategic asset and a mentor to younger teammates. He leads by example through his work ethic, composure, and unwavering commitment to team success. Coby Loveranes embodies everything Virginia Tech Burn strives to represent: excellence, dedication, and leadership.
