Sam Li is a force to be reckoned with on the field. With her consistent throws and sure-fire catches, Sam dominates whatever space she’s in. Playing both handler and cutter roles, Sam excels in all areas thanks to her Ultimate IQ. A graduate of the NYC YCC scene, Sam brings years of experience and dedication to her teams. At 5’1″, Sam is a secret weapon in the deep space; her ability to read and attack the disc makes her a key player, particularly with lofty contested hucks. Her grit and tenacity have led to key layout D’s, as well as earning her the affectionate nickname Sam “D.” A 2-year captain of Emory Luna and a member of Flock, an Atlanta mixed team, this season, Sam also secured a roster spot for Atlanta’s semi-pro women’s team, Soul. Sam is wholeheartedly committed to advancing the sport of ultimate through fierce competition and unrivaled spirit, making it our honor to nominate her for the Callahan Award.
