It would be a shock if you haven’t heard of Jessie Sun. Her incredible play that led her to be declared BE’s Block of the Month was also a finalist for Ultiworld’s 2020 Play of the Year. However, Jessie has been a force to be reckoned with since she started playing in high school. She’s competed at YCCs and traveled to Poland in 2016 as part of the U.S. U-20 Girls’ National Team. Her athleticism and skill have been an asset to Danger for the past 6 years. Jessie’s unmatched intensity and resilience propelled her into the centerpiece of Danger’s defense and is the spark to the team’s defensive successes. From being on the shortlist for ROTY and nominated onto USAU’s All-Freshman Team to being named the second runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year in 2020, Jessie always played her heart out. She is a consistent player and a playmaking machine in big moments, which has garnered respect from not only her teammates but also the opponents she has faced. When she isn’t tearing it up on the field, she works hard behind the scenes expressing her love for her team through Danger’s social media and leading equity initiatives within Pitt Ultimate. Jessie’s compassion shines through when offering helpful feedback, lending a shoulder, or offering her athletic training skills for her teammates. In addition to playing, Jessie has returned to New Jersey to coach the DeVYL girls’ team and will jump at any chance to take frisbee pictures.
