Biography

Hailing from rocky Colorado, Denika started playing ultimate her first year at UCSD. After tumultuous pandemic times and her rookie year getting cut short, she came back in 2021 for the fall series. She was trusted with crucial defensive positions during Fall Nationals 2021. During the 2022 season, Denika helped lead Dragon Coalition on yet another nationals run. She was awarded the title of Defensive Player of the Year for our team by our coaches. Taking on the role of captain for the 2022-2023 season, Denika has not only been an incredible role model for young ultimate players but has also become a force to be reckoned with on the field. A crucial part of both O-line and D-line, there isn’t a skill or throw that Denika Hallin can’t make. Everyone should be scared of her mark. With her leadership, D-Co hopes to attend Nationals for yet another consecutive year. Outside of college ultimate, Denika is also a practice player for San Diego Superbloom (WUL) and is looking to play on an elite club team this summer. Besides frisbee, Denika also loves Trader Joe’s banana bread and learning about pirates.
