Growing up in Connecticut, Zach attended Xavier High School where he started playing ultimate as a freshman. He played all four years and captained the team to a state semifinal appearance his junior and senior year. Zach also played for Connecticut Insomnia, the local YCC team, where he played a pivotal role as a handler. After high school, he attended Ohio State University and started on the O-line his freshman year. He has then been the offensive center handler and a three-time captain. Not only has he improved his ultimate skill set – improving tremendously after each off-season – he has developed into a strong leader. In Leadbelly’s first College Championships appearance in over 10 years, he lead the team to the quarterfinals – the best finish in program history. While excelling in the college scene, Zach has also had multiple successful club seasons. Zach has played for Michigan Hi-Five as well as Columbus Cocktails where he played an important role in each team’s run to nationals. He is the hardest worker on the team and will stop at nothing to until he gives everything he has to the team. He is the most unselfish player and will always put his teammates before himself. Along with being the most unselfish, competitive and hardworking player, he is the best teammate anyone could ask for.
