Biography
Nick Lopez has been a staple of Gamecock Ultimate for 4 years. His skill, athleticism, and game IQ is surpassed only by his competitiveness and love for the game. He is known by his teammates as a fierce competitor, all-around player, and true friend.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, he came to the University of South Carolina with high school experience having played 2021-2022 with Charlotte Flight. Even as an underclassmen it was clear that he had the necessary skills and mental fortitude to be a key contributor to the offensive line. Nick’s hard-nosed style of grinding offense combined with a knack for highlight plays makes him a matchup nightmare for his competitors. On the field, he never gives up on any play. On the sideline, he never gives up on any of his teammates.
Nick gave everything he had to this team as both a player and as a captain. For his commitment and leadership to this club, and his ferocity and tenacity with which he plays this game, Gamecock Ultimate is proud to name Nick Lopez as our 2026 Callahan Award nominee.
