Jonny Malks came in to William & Mary as one of the premier freshman in the country and led the program to its best year ever, culminating with an appearance at Nationals. In 2018, Jonny suffered two devastating injuries, a broken wrist, then an ACL tear. Jonny picked himself back up from these injuries, continued to work hard, and emerged from it an even better player. This past year, Jonny proved himself to be one of the best players in the AUDL with the DC Breeze, and made yet another Club Nationals appearance with Space Heater. He also just recently made the US Beach National Team. Jonny returned for the 2021 Fall Series, and put up a ridiculous stat line of 35 assists, 10 goals, and 9 blocks in just 9 games. In addition to his play on the field, Jonny also gives back to the ultimate community by coaching youth players. This past summer he managed AUA, a frisbee summer camp out of the DC area. Jonny is a hard worker, role model, great leader, and the heart and soul of the William & Mary Merry Men. No one represents our program any better. Jonny is fully deserving of the 2021 Callahan Award.
