Itay Chang

Biography

Itay Chang began playing ultimate at 16 and immediately had a feel for the game due to his prior soccer career. Winning the California high school state championships with Gunn Control his rookie year and leading them to another state championship as a captain the next year. Also, he captained Red Dawn at the Youth Club Championships in 2019, finishing in 3rd place in the U-20 men’s division.

He joined Oregon Ego in Fall 2019. After tw0 seasons canceled due to Covid, he became a centerpiece of Ego and is now their captain. In Summer 2022, he played elite club with Rhino Slam!, playing a key role on their D-line that went to semifinals at Club Nationals. Recently, he was selected to play for the USA U-24 National Team this summer in England. After leading Ego to their first College Nationals berth since spring 2019, he looks to help them win a national championship for the first time since 1992. In addition to his on-field accolades, Itay co-founded the Palo Alto Unified School District middle school ultimate frisbee league.
