Ethan Ruh is the heart and soul of the William and Mary Men’s ultimate program. Starting with no ultimate experience his freshman year, he has become one of the best players in the Atlantic Coast region and an absolute terror to play against. Ethan has consistently shown absurd athletic ability, amazing throws and consistently exceptional spirit across his five years in the program. As captain of the team for two years, Ethan was integral in the program’s survival through COVID and lead the team to new heights by making nationals last year. Ruh has distinguished himself as among the country’s best cutters and defenders through absurd blocks, skies and stat lines (reaching a plus minus of more than +100 this season). He powered our team to nationals last year and led us to sectionals victory this year with hopes of returning to nationals for the second year in a row. There’s no player I’ve met with more heart, spirit and tenacity than Ethan Ruh and I am proud to nominate him for the 2023 Callahan award.
