UVM Chill is immensely proud to nominate our captain Eli Standard for the 2023 Callahan Award. Eli is a dedicated, compassionate, and exemplary leader. On the field, Eli is a dynamic and tireless engine. Marking up against Eli both in practice and during competition requires monumental effort and intelligence as he carves up opposing defenses with his speed and precision. He’s the type of player his teammates look to when fatigued or needing an injection of energy. We work hard because Eli works harder.
Off the field, he’s given more time and effort to our program than could ever be expected of a single person. After only a single year with our team, Eli stepped into the position of club president of a program containing over 100 athletes spanning three teams. He has been essential to the development of UVM ultimate, leading our program to new heights. He is the star around which our team revolves. We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have such an extraordinary captain, teammate, and friend.
